The advantages of high-voltage shore power technology are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. High efficiency: high-voltage shore power can reduce the loss during power transmission and improve energy efficiency;

2. Significant energy saving: by utilizing shore power while berthed, ships can drastically cut fuel consumption for auxiliary generator operation, thereby reducing operational costs. It's estimated that operating costs drop to just 30% of those when burning oil;

Taking Shandong's ports as an example, in the first quarter, shore power connection reached over 6 million kilowatt-hours, a 37% increase year-on-year, leading to a reduction of 3,600 tons of CO₂ emissions, saving 1,200 tons of fuel, cutting 14 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, and decreasing nitrogen oxide emissions by 67 tons.
